Uncomfortable is not the same as allergic.
Ninety seconds against twenty-four hours.
A shampoo has about ninety seconds of contact before it goes down the drain. A scalp barrier that has been worn down by years of hot water and over-washing does not rebuild in ninety-second instalments. It needs something still there in the afternoon, and still there tomorrow morning.
That is the whole product. And on this one the soothing group is not an afterthought: sea water and pumpkin seed extract, the two halves of OCALINE XP, sit at positions three and five on the ingredient list in the buy panel above. In the shampoo they are tenth and eleventh. Chamomile flower water, centella, calendula, ruscus root, ammonium glycyrrhizate, escin, panthenol and allantoin sit around them.
What it will not do. It will not work if you do not use it, and it is not hypoallergenic. It contains alcohol, second on the list, along with fragrance, lavandin oil and mint oil. If you have a diagnosed contact allergy, this is not the range for you and no amount of soothing actives changes that. Patch test behind the ear for 24 hours, book the scan, or speak to a dermatologist. We would rather say that than sell you a leave-in you will react to.
Four jobs, and one of them is answering the ingredient list.
A leave-in that stays on the scalp is a different thing from a conditioner that rinses off, and it deserves its own description rather than a borrowed one. Here is what this one does, and the one thing on the ingredient list you deserve an answer about.

No. It contains fragrance, lavandin oil and mint oil. This is a soothing formula, not a hypoallergenic one, and no product Dr Scalp makes is fragrance-free.
Two reasons, and both are readable on the ingredient list. It stays on your scalp between washes rather than for ninety seconds, and the soothing group sits third and fifth here against tenth and eleventh in the shampoo.
It should not. Most people feel a cool sensation for a second or two as the alcohol evaporates, and then nothing. If it stings rather than cools, stop and talk to us.
It helps, because a stripping wash undoes what this is doing. But if you are only buying one thing from this range, buy this one.
