Is this the right one for you?
Restoration sits outside the six scalp series. Those treat a cause. These two treat hair that is already damaged.
Choose this if
- Your hair feels dry again by the time it has finished drying
- It is bleached, chemically straightened or heat-styled regularly
- Your ends are overdue a cut and you are trying to stretch it
- Your hair is coarse enough that ordinary conditioner does nothing
Look elsewhere if
- Your problem starts at the scalp. Grease, flakes, itch, shedding and greying all have their own series
- Your hair is fine or untreated, in which case this will weigh it down and the Oil at $58 is the sensible test
- You want your split ends repaired, because nothing repairs them
Start with the $58 one instead.
A conditioner has a minute. This one you can leave on all night.
Rinse-out conditioners are built around a compromise: they have to deposit something useful in about sixty seconds and then come off cleanly. On mildly dry hair that is enough. On hair that has been bleached, chemically straightened or heat-styled for years, sixty seconds is not enough of anything.
This is the same category of product without the time limit. Rinsed after two minutes it is an intensive treatment. Left in entirely it is a heavy leave-in. The base is coco-caprylate and a cetearyl alcohol emulsion, with argan oil ninth, aloe tenth, calendula fourteenth, vitamin E fifteenth and brown seaweed at twenty-one, alongside the same Coptis, Forsythia and liquorice group the Anti-Dandruff series uses. All of it on the ingredient list in the buy panel above.
What it will not do. It will not repair anything, because nothing does. Split ends cannot be mended and bleached cuticle cannot be rebuilt. It also does nothing for your scalp, and it should not go near it. If your hair is fine or untreated it will weigh it down, and the $58 Oil is the sensible way to find out whether this sort of product suits you at all.
Four jobs, and one decision you make yourself.
A masque and an oil are different formats doing different jobs, whatever a shared benefits list elsewhere might suggest. Here is what this one actually does.
Rinse after two minutes, or leave it in
Rinsed after two minutes it is an intensive weekly treatment; left in it is a heavy leave-in for coarse or damaged hair. Nothing else we sell does both.
Coco-caprylate in a cetearyl alcohol base
A rinse-out conditioner has to deposit and then leave cleanly, which caps what it can do. Removing the time limit is the whole difference.
Positions nine, ten, fourteen and twenty-one
Argan for slip, aloe and calendula for a scalp that has had chemicals on it, and Alaria Esculenta at twenty-one. All four are on the list.
Because nothing does
Split ends cannot be mended and bleached cuticle cannot be rebuilt. Every product claiming repair is describing a coating — this one included.
Two uses, not eight weeks.
This is a cosmetic treatment. It works while it is on your hair and it stops when you wash it out, and there is no cumulative eight-week payoff to wait for.
- First useRinsed, you will feel it immediatelyMore slip, less catching. If nothing changes at all, this is not for your hair, and the scan will tell you what is.
- Second useTry leaving it inSame application on damp hair, considerably less product, no rinse. On coarse or badly damaged hair this is usually the version people stay with.
- Week 3–6You settle on one of the twoMost people end up rinsing it in the week and leaving it in at weekends or overnight.
- OngoingIt does not accumulateThere is no eight-week payoff here. It works while it is on and stops when it is washed out. That is what a treatment is, and it is worth being straight about it.
Two products, and neither of them is a routine.
Restoration is not a series in the way the other six are. There is no shampoo, no conditioner and no tonic, because damaged hair is not a scalp condition. These two are finishing products, used alongside whichever series treats the cause.

Not sure this is the right one?
Guessing is expensive. Your first treatment is $59 and it opens with an AI scan of your scalp, so the next thing you buy is the one you actually need.
Questions we get asked
Either, and that is genuinely the product rather than a hedge. Rinsed after two minutes it is an intensive treatment. Left in it is a heavy leave-in for coarse or badly damaged hair. Use noticeably less if you are leaving it in.
No. Nothing does. A split end cannot be mended and bleached cuticle cannot be rebuilt. What this does is make the damage look and behave better until it grows out or is cut off.
The oil, if you have not bought from us before. It is $58 rather than $138 and you will know within ten minutes whether this kind of product does anything for your hair. Come back for the masque if it does.
No. It is not formulated for the scalp and on an oily or flaking one it will make things worse. Everything on this website that goes on your scalp is in one of the six series.
Twice a week. More often is not better, and doing the rinsed and left-in versions on the same day does nothing extra.
Probably, if your hair is fine and untreated. Fine but bleached is a different case and usually fine with the left-in version used sparingly.
From your account, or one message to either studio. No minimum term, no cancellation fee.
Give us at least 48 hours before your next delivery is due. Inside that window the parcel is usually already packed, so it goes out as it is and the change applies from the order after.
Come and talk to us rather than quietly giving up. Eight weeks is the fair test, and a free scalp scan at either studio will show whether the scalp is moving or whether you are simply on the wrong bottle — if it is the wrong one, we will put you on the right one. And if you are holding something unopened, you can exchange it within 14 days of purchase for another product, or a treatment, of equal or higher value.
